Can someone please help me?

I made my avatar 50 by 50 pixels but when I try to upload it it says it's still too large, because it's 16kb instead of the maximum 15kb. I have absolutely no clue how to fix this and it is EXTREMELY frustrating. Can someone please help me fix it?
